If you have a chance on Jeju Island, don’t miss the chance to try their grilled black pork. Neulbom Heukdwaeji (늘봄흑돼지) is a renowned restaurant among the locals for their Samgyeopsal, the bossless cut of pork belly. Neulbom Heukdwaeji grilled the black pork meat over charcoal instead of a gas stove so its naturally sweet taste won’t be lost.
We tried the Dombedon, a popular grilled black pork restaurant in the black port street during our first night at Jeju. The taste was so delicious and unforgettable. So we decided to have another round of grilled black pork before leaving Jeju. The charcoal grill method is one of the main reasons we choose the Neulbom Heukdwaeji.
Neulbom Heukdwaeji Restaurant
Neulbom Heukdwaeji occupied a two stories building with plenty of car parks available. We are served at a table on the lower floor.
The inside of the Neulbom is very wide and spacious with lots of tables. Most of their customer is local Korean families with kids and groups of friends who come to enjoy their dinner here. Smoke removal equipment is on every table so no worry about the smoky smell.
How To Order At Neulbom Heukdwaeji
The menu of Neulbom is standard in Korean and English and Mandarin translated below. We choose the recommendation from the waitress on the first and second items on the menu, Samgyeopsal pork belly, and pock neck.
Minimum one order per person for dine-in at Neulbom which is standard for Korean BBQ restaurants. We also added bibimbap on top of our meat order.
Yangnyeom Gejang Side Dishes
Banchan (starters/side dishes) are served quickly with a wide variety of choices like kimchi, onion, radish side dishes, and salad. One of the side dishes catch my attention, was the yangnyeom gejang (seasoned spicy raw crab). I noticed it a few times when I visited Jeju’s traditional market and this is the first time I can try on it.
The eating of the raw crab is tame and hard. I feel it is hard to crew and end up I take out of my mouth.
Charcoal Grilled Pork Belly
A BBQ kit is built into the table and a waiter will bring the hot charcoal for you to cook the meat on it.
The waitress is helping us to grill the meat and cut it into slides when the pork starts to turn into brown color. We can start enjoying our charcoal-grilled black pork meal.
Smoky Charcoal Scent Pork Bell
The pork was succulent with some of the pork skin getting crispy fried up which gives you a nice very nice texture to chew on it. Wrap the pork belly with the lettuce. But I feel the pork alone is already very delicious and fragrant with a smoky charcoal scent.
You can also dip the meat with fermented anchovy sauce served together but both of us didn’t like it too much.
The dinner goes well with the bibimbap ordered accompanying kimchi, veggies, radish, and anchovies side dishes. I am voted for Neulbom Heukdwaeji compared with Dombedon. Probably because of the smoky charcoal scent, I feel the pork is more crispy and delicious.
Neulbom Heukdwaeji is located in Jeju city and has easy access from Jeju airport with less than 5 minutes drive. We compared and booked our car through RentalCars from Booking.com with the best price guarantee. Driving in Jeju will be more easily accessible to try the must-eat food in Jeju.
The eastern coast of Jeju has two major attractions which are Sunrise Peak Seongsan Ilchulbong and Udo Island. Both are located very close, making it superbly easy to couple up for an east coast day trip.
Every year, millions of visitors are flowing to this tiny small island. Prepare to spend a day relaxing in a peaceful atmosphere with no crowd, no nightlife, and no major attraction but beautiful nature. Natural lover, please don’t miss it.
We continue our Udo Island itinerary after visiting Sunrise peak Seongsan Ilchubong. Both attractions are located nearby and it is best coupled together for Jeju’s east coastline visit. If you are planning your Jeju itinerary like us. It is best to plan for a self-driving trip which greatly helps for getting around. We rented our rental car from AJ Rent-A-Car through RentalCars from Booking.com. It is pretty simple to pick up process with English is spoken staff supported. Most importantly, the best price guarantee.
Here is some helpful information with the Udo island travel guide blog included on how we spend a day at Udo Island.
Udo Island, also called “Cow Island” in Hanja, is situated off the eastern coast of Jeju island. It is a volcanic islet created as a result of volcano activities a thousand years ago. The shape of the island looks like a cow lying down. It required 1 to 1.30 hours of driving journey from Jeju city of Seogwipo. So it’s still recommended you stay one night in the Seongsan area.
How Do You Get To Udo Island?
The transportation from Jeju to Udo is very straightforward as the ferry is the only transportation to get to Udo Island. There are two ports at Jeju (Jongdal and Seongsan) and also two ports at Udo (Haumokdong and Cheonjin).
Is Udo Island Worth Going?
Udo Island is a place that is definitely worth your visit. It is a small version of Jeju Island that can be explored within a few hours of short visits, or within a day if you love to explore at a slow pace.
From Seongsan Port to Udo Island
From Seongsan port to Udo Island, you will reach either Haumokdong or Cheonjin port at Udo Island. Most travelers are using this route to get to Udo Island as it is very frequent with 30 minutes in between.
From Seongsan Port to Udo: start from 8:00 until evening 17:00-18:00 (depending on the season)
Very frequent with 30 minutes intervals. Just reach Seongsan port and board the next ferry.
For those who prefer to reach the desired port at Udo island, please double-check the ferry destination at the counter.
From Jongdal Port To Udo Island
The ferry from Jongdal port to Udo Island is much lesser and you can only reach Haumokdong port.
Travel time between these two ports only takes about 15 minutes for one ferry ride.
How To Buy The Ferry Ticket
Park your car at the newly open three stories or open-air car park. The parking fee for the indoor car park is about 8,000 per day.
Follow the crowd and walk to Seongsan Passenger Terminal Port, a white domed-shape color building at the end of the walkway.
When you at the passenger terminal, no need to be hurry to the ticket counter as you need to fill up the boarding form to get your ferry ticket. Declaration forms (to be filled in duplicate) are available at the middle tables.
Remember to bring your passport for boarding registration. Passenger tickets cost about ₩8,500 for a round trip fare. The return ticket is valid for the entire day without a specific time. Remember where you keep it, else you will need to buy a new one.
Follow the signboard or the crowd to the passenger ferry terminal and board the ferry bound for Udo Island. Normally the ferry between Udo is three levels with an upper first and second level for passengers and a lowest lower for car boarding.
The journey will take around 15 minutes only.
The earlier ferry departs from Seongsan port every 30 minutes starting from 7.30 a.m to 6 p.m. depending on the season. But it is subject to change due to weather conditions. Please double-check your weather in advance before your Udo Island trip.
Note: No car rentals are allowed to board Udo island since Aug 2017.
Getting Around At Udo
The first thing when reaching Udo Island is looking for transportation. There are numerous ways to get around Udo Island and your choice to decide.
A round trip of Udo Island can be completed by foot on its 16km of Olle trail.
Hop on and hop off the shuttle bus (valid for the whole day) at ₩5,000 is one of the options. Depart every 30 minutes and stops at the four major attraction and two major ferry pot at Udo Island.
For those who prefer to explore at your own pace, you may consider renting a motorized vehicle (ATV, scooter, electric car) in which an international driver permit is required.
Another option is a bicycle or electric bike which required some the exercise. Price about ₩15,000 for 2 hours.
No worry about finding your transportation at Udo Island as various rental shops are situated at the Udo Passenger Terminal. They will help you to get a suitable one.
We planned for renting an electrical car for our day trip to Udo Island. It is common and super cute at Udo Island.
We thought that the required only need to have an international driving permit (IDP) for renting. But unfortunately, we got rejected due to my IDP driving class is only permitted for the car but not for motorcycles.
So we end up renting electrical bicycles to explore Udo Island. A sad story.
Udo Island Itinerary
There are eight scenic wonders of Udo Island listed in Jeju Self-Governing province. But you may not need to bother it as few of them are located in some areas. Anyhow you will pass them if you are taking around the island journey.
Depending on whether you arrive at Haumokdong port or Cheojin port. A day trip to Udo Island is a round island trip, whether you take a shuttle bus or self-exploring by bicycle, scooter, or electric car.
There are four major attractions of Udo Island that you hardly can miss when visiting Udo Island. The Hagosudong Beach (하고수동해변), Geommeolle Beach (검멀레해변), Udobong (우도봉), and Seobinbaeksa Beach(서빈백사), follow the clockwise direction starting from Haumokdong port. The hop-on and hop-off bus will stop at these four major attraction spots when touring around Udo Island.
Hagosudong Beach and Seobinbaeksa Beach is a good spots for you to tip your toes into the sea. However, Udobong and Geommeolle are the two spots that you hardly can miss.
Udo Island itinerary:
Do the round Udo Island trip (by shuttle bus, electrical car, bicycle, ATV, or walking)
Coastal walk at Geomeolle (Udo Island Must-Do)
Trek Up To Udobong Peak And Lighthouse
Enjoy Sand White Beaches at Hagosudong and Seobinbaeksa Beach
Eat the Udo Island Best Food (Hallasan Fried Rice, Udo Peanut Ice-cream, seafood ramen)
Coastal Walk At Geommeolle (검멀레해변)
Probably the most happening area at Udo Island. Thanks to its outdoor cafe at the entrance, so you can treat yourself to its famous peanut ice cream.
Geommeolle beach is a very small tiny 100-meter black sand beach under the cliff of Udobong which required to step down some stairs. There are black sand beaches with unusual rock formations and caves.
Those who want to take a closer look at Dongangyeonggul caves can walk down to the beach to take a look. There was a whale that once lived in and this is why the name comes.
You can catch a sightseeing boat ride at ₩10,000. Alternatively, enjoy walking along the coast to see the amazing cliff at Geommeolle beach, just like what we did.
Trek Up To Udobong (우도봉) Peak And Lighthouse
Udobong is the highest point on Udo island with the shape of a cow’s head. Follow the walking path and there will be a lighthouse at the peak. And, the best view of the coast!
For those who are lazy to hike up, you can view the Udobong directly from Geommeolle.
Enjoy Sand White Beaches
Two major beaches at Udo Island: Hagosudong Beach (하고수동해변) and Seobinbaeksa Beach(서빈백사) which face east and west respectively at Udo Island.
Walking along the sandy white beaches, dip your toes into the crystal blue seawater or you can even swim when the water is not so cold. During our visit, the water is not yet ready for swimming so most people are just taking photos of the sea view.
What To Eat At Udo Island?
We didn’t plan for any restaurant during our day trip to Udo Island. But their Hallasan fried rice seems very tempting. However, we are still full when we are nearby the restaurant.
So we end up randomly picking a restaurant with a nice sea view to try on Korean seafood ramen.
Korea Seafood Ramen
Most of all restaurants on Udo island served Korea Seafood ramen. The restaurant we went to is run by an ahjumma which served some traditional Jeju dishes. You can choose abalone porridge, seafood ramen, bibimbap, or fried rice.
We choose the Korean seafood ramen for 2 pax for our lunch. Side dishes are served as usual in Korean restaurants. Out of our expectations, the seafood ramen is served in a big cooking bowl floated with seafood. Prawn, shell, squid, octopus, scallop, and crab are cooked together with hot spicy soup noodles. It cost ₩20,000 for two people.
It’s a pleasure to have noodles hot at the seaside.
Peanut Ice Cream
You need to try the peanut ice cream while you are on Udo Island. Mostly all cafes at Udo sells the same dessert in different cute decorations.
There is three main ice cream cafe at Geommeolle: Jimmy’s (지미스), Dennis Cafe (대니스카페), and Udo Prince Story (우도왕자이야기). We just choose the Udo Prince Story which seems like the most famous at the Geommeolle. You can also find this cafe at Udobong.
The peanut ice cream is vanilla soft serve sprinkled with Udo locally grown peanut. Not that delicious but we enjoy our dessert with a nice view.
Day Trip At Udo Island
If you want to see Jeju in a day, go to Udo Island. Udo Island is like a miniature of Jeju Island with beautiful beaches, lava rocks and cliffs, and scenery along the coastal road. Sunshine will plan an important role on your Udo trip. Emerald sea can be seen around Udo Island during shinny days.
Renting an electrical bike is a good way to explore the peaceful Island. We do not have a TO-DO list in our minds. Just follow the round coast trail by electric bicycle and stop by any nice view or spot at your own pace.
Along the coast, you can easily spot the Haenyeo, the women sea diver catching for local shellfish to earn their living. We went for a break at a cafe for peanut ice cream at Geommeolle and randomly choose a Korean noodles restaurant for lunch.
Spending a full day can be done to explore Udo Island at a slow pace. We end up spending about 4 hours completing the round Udo Island journey.
Where to Stay in Udo Island?
Accommodation at Udo Island is limited with few pensions if you want to spend a night on the peaceful calm Island. You may consider staying in Haru House in Udo and Udo White Castle Pension if choose to stay on Udo Island.
Considering that it takes over an hour to drive or two hours by bus to Udo Ferry Terminal, it is highly recommended that stay on the eastern coast of Jeju near Udo Island. It is also relatively cheaper for the accommodation on the east side mainly run by locals.
How we did to prepare for our Udo Island day trip is staying one night at B&Sun pension at Seongsan and coupled with the Seongsan Ilhulbong Sunrise Peak and Udo Island. We are heading back to Jeju city, our next destination after the wonderful day trip to Udo Island.
Need help on where to stay in Jeju? We listed some best hotels in Jeju in different areas, depending on your Jeju itinerary and transportation.

Common Question: Can I use my Rental car to Udo Island?
One of the frequent questions on transportation arrangements to Udo Island. Can I board and bring my car rental from Jeju mainland to Udo island?
I am contacted by the Jeju Tourism Information Center to ask for confirmation. The answer is no car rental is allowed to carry to Udo island. However in some exceptional cases with proper documentation evidence.
Below are the exceptional cases to use a rental car on Udo island:
When you are accompanied by someone born before 1954. (ID card required)
When you are accompanied by a pregnant woman. (Diagnosis paper of pregnant)
A disabled person using a wheelchair.
When you are accompanied by a child of the age of 6. (Family relation certificate, copy of resident registration, or medical insurance card)
Booked accommodation in Udo in advance. (Information on the booking confirmation)
Note: Reply from Jeju Tourism Information Center.
So this is good news if you are planning to go to Udo island with a family with kids and the elderly. However, the road condition on Udo island is quite narrow with a single lane. Additionally, many visitors are driving scooters, bicycles, and electric cars. So be extra careful when driving on Udo Island.
Side note, you will need to pay an onboarding fee on passengers and cars to use the rental car to Udo island. The boarding fee for cars varies depending on car cc.
I hope this helps to plan your Udo island itinerary. Happy travel!

Seongsan Ilchulbong, also known as ‘Sunrise Peak’ is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most famous geographical features on Jeju Island’s eastern edge. My Seongsan Ilchulbong itinerary included.
Famous for its magnificent view especially during the sunrise, Seongsan Ilchulbong is a tuff cone crater that was formed when the volcano erupted under the ocean about thousand years ago.
We hike up to Sunrise peak Seongsan Ilchubong as part of the east coastline itinerary. Besides, this attraction is always best to couple with a day trip to Udo Island as both attractions are located nearby. We rented our car from AJ Rent-A-Car through RentalCars from Booking.com. It is the budget Avis in Jeju with English is spoken staff supported. Most importantly, the best price after comparing various cars in a similar range. It greatly helps us from getting around for our Jeju road trip.

Jeju Must Visit Attraction?
See the Wikipedia picture from the top view.
If you are asking what is the MUST visit among all the Jeju attractions, Seongsan Ilchulbong is my answer. Don’t miss your visit to one of the New Seven Wonder Of Natural in the World!
Seongsan Ilchulbong rose from under the sea in a volcanic eruption over 100,000 years ago. This geographical is very rate and from afar. From the top view, the cater looks like a gigantic crown.
Best Time To Visit Seongsan Ilchulbong
The best time to view the magnificent Seongsan Ilchulbong is during sunrise, hence nicknamed “Sunrise Peak”.
Check the sunrise time if you are planning for it and be prepared for an almost 30 minutes hike to reach the top depending on your fitness. Many locals run motels and pensions are located within five to 10 minutes of walking distance.
No worry about hiking in the dark as most are well-managed walking paths and stairs. prepare a headlight or open flash from your phone if you think it is needed. There are lots of people are hiking up to a peak like you!
If you are not interested in the sunrise, please try to visit Seongsan Ilchulbong as earlier as you can. Visitors and tourist buses are coming all the way to witness its beauty in the afternoon and evening.
Seongsan Ilchulbong Itinerary
Originally we did not plan for the sunrise for our 6 days Jeju road trip. But my travel mate pursued me since we are here. So, why not?
With this sudden change, we have to wake up early morning before 5 a.m to catch the sunrise. This is the fun part of the free and easy road trip, right?
Hike Up To Seongsan Ilchulbong For SunRise
From our accommodation stay, B&Sun Pension, it took about 8 minutes to drive to Seongsan Iichulbong. It is safe for driving on Jeju Island even in the early morning. The direction of the road is clear and you will pass by some narrow streets when you almost arrive. We reached and parked our car at the entrance within a 10 minutes ride from the pension.
Seongsan Ilchulbong Before The Dawn
The gate of the Seongsan Ilchulbong will be open one hour before sunrise. But nobody was there, so we proceed with our hike to the peak.
It is not so tough to climb up the hill in the beginning. The pathway is well maintained and lit as the day starts breaking. So it is not so dark as we thought. And there are also people hiking up together with you in the early morning.
Stairs, Stairs And More Stairs!
Don’t forget to bring along your jacket as the wind is quite strong in the morning. However, we still sweating due to the rushing to reach the peak.
Rest points with benches are available along the walkway if you need some rest. We manage to conquer a series of stairways and pass through the few viewing platforms.
The last checkpoint before reaching the peak is the fight of stairs that required a steep climb up. Go ahead and you are almost reaching a peak!
Waiting For Sunrise
It took us about 20 minutes to the peak. There are quite a number of people waiting and staring out at the sky when we are reached.
We took a seat with a nice viewing point and wait for the sun to peek over the horizon.
View At The Peak Of Seongsan Ilchulbong
We are unluckily due to the cloudy day. The colorful sunrise with tri-colored does not occur during our visit. Else, the view of Seongsan Ilchulbong when the sun is slowly ascended with yellow shining is also very breathtaking.
We are viewing the end of the tuff cone with green at the flourishing crater. Don’t forget to take the panoramic views of the Seongsan town from the peak. After taking a few photos, we were ready to be off.
Going Down From The Peak
Going down is much easier with established pathways and a well-built staircase.
It took us about 20 minutes for going down due to keeping on shooting photos of the nice view.
The Coast Of Seongsan Ilchulbong
We found the view at the coast of Seongsan Ilchulbong is much nicer!
Haonyeo Performance At Seongsan Ilchulbong
At the left end of the Seongsan Ilchulbong, there are Jeju Woman divers and Haonyeo performances for free.
If you are lucky to watch the Haonyeo performance at 1.30 p.m and 3 p.m. You may also buy the raw seafood freshly caught by the Haonyeo.
Breakfast At Seongsan Ilchulbong
Our sunrise hike at Seongsan Ilchulbong itinerary ended with a nice breakfast at Paris Baguette. This Korean chain cafe is just located right in front of the Seongsan Ilchulbong which you hardly miss.
Nice coffee with sandwiches in front of Seongsan Ilchulbong is a good start for our fourth day of Jeju self-driving road trip.
How To Go To Seongsan Ilchulbong
From Jeju City or Seogwipo, it required almost an hour driving journey to reach Seongsan Ilchulbong. So we highly recommended self-driving for your Jeju holiday. We rented a car through RentalCars from Booking.com, and rented it through AJ Rent A Car Company. Most importantly, the best price guarantee with English staff supported.
Besides, it is also best to stay nearby Seongsan, especially if you are planning for the sunrise. We choose to stay at B&Sun Pension and have a good sleep before the hike. B&Sun pension is a budget stay run by the Korean ahjumma family. It is located near Seopjikoji beach and still easily reaches Seongsan Ilchulbong within 10 minutes drive.
You may also look for the pensions run by locals within walking distance to the Soengsan Ilchulbong. Alternative, Co-op City Hotel Seongsan, and Hotel Aroha are great options located nearby Seongsan Ilchulbong. Easy access with less than 10 minutes drive to the entrance.
Alternatively, check for Jeju Eastern Discovery Local Tour run every Tues, Thurs, and Sat from Jeju City, or Seogwipo with good arrangements for your trip.

My Jeju Road Trip Itinerary
Looking for help planning your Jeju itinerary? Here is some ideas of the best things to do in Jeju for your wonderful Jeju holiday.
My Jeju south coast itinerary is the most coastal scenery with the amazing natural landscape at Jeju Island. It is very easy to access from Jeju city ( Jeju-si) and well-connected to Mt Hallasan, from attractions at the west and east coastline.
Seogwipo is the second major city on Jeju Island after Jeju city. Many travelers are based at Seogwipo for their Jeju south coastline traveling journey.
We choose to visit the wonderful Jeju island by self-driving. It is highly recommended to explore the hidden natural beauty at our own pace. Consider renting a car at Jeju island through RentalCars from Booking.com to compare various reliable car rental companies to guarantee for the best price.
Places To Visit At Seogwipo, South Coast Jeju
The amazing natural landscapes and waterfalls are listed in the must-go Jeju south coast itinerary which nearby Seogwipo city.
Gifted by heaven for the three famous waterfalls: Jeongbang Falls (정방폭포), Cheonjiyeon Falls (천지연 폭포), Cheonjeyeon Falls (천제연 폭포). Don’t forget to visit one or maybe three of them.
Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliff (중문 대포 주상절리대) is an impressive volcanic rock formation with various shapes like pillars, cubes, or hexagons from cooling lava by the seaside. Head to the Jungmun Beach (중문·색달 해변) for the sandy white beaches after the cliff visit.
Theme museums, cafes, and galleries are mainly located in the Seogwipo area. Give a visit to the Teddy Bear Museum (테디베어 박물관) and Seokbujak Museum (석부작 박물관) together with family with kids. Enjoy a cup of coffee at Seoyeon’s House (서연의 집) or Cafe MayB 카페 메이비 after the visit to Lee Jung Seop Gallery (이중섭 미술관) at his named street.
Day 3: Jeju South Coast Road Trip Itinerary
We stay at Seogwipo for one night to visit their famous waterfall and lava cliff after the west coastline journey. We both agree that one night seems like not enough. It is not about the major tourist attraction but to explore the natural beauty of the southern coastline.
We enjoy our walking journey at Jeju Olle trail 6, the most beautiful walking trail at Jeju during sunset and sunrise. We can’t complete the trial journey due to time constraints. It’s so much to see, eat and play at Jeju Island.
Wake up early for the sunrise at the lava beach in front of the pension
Jeongbang Waterfall
Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliff
Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market for lunch
Enjoy a cup of coffee at the sea view cafe
Seopjikoji
Dinner at Myeongjin Jeonbok for an Abalone feast
Jeongbang Waterfall (정방폭포)
One of the famous waterfalls at Seogwipo, Jeongbang Waterfall is the only waterfall in Asia that falls directly into the ocean. Its height is about 23 meters and situated on a cliff by the sea.
Jeongbang Waterfall is located nearby Jeju Aurum pension less than 5 minutes drive. You will need to go down a hundred downhill stairs and big slippery rock for a closer look. The opportunity of viewing closer at Jeongbang waterfall is the reason we choose it among all the three falls.
Sit down at the rocky stone to enjoy the sound of the waterfall flowing. The journey took us less than 1 hour.
Address: 37 Chilsimni-ro214beon-gil, Donghong-dong, Seogwipo, Jeju-do, South Korea
We continue our Jeju road trip and headed to our next destination, Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliff in the Jungmun area. Again, Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliff is the cliff formation when the lava from Mt. Hallasan erupted into the sea of Jungmun.
Take the wooden stairs which lead you along with the cliff line. The sudden contraction of molten lava due to the cooling effect of water formed it into various shapes of volcanic rock at pillars, cubes, or hexagons piled up along the coast. It is even more breathtaking when the waves of the high tide crash into the side of the cliff.
Another traditional market on Jeju Island. We take this opportunity to eat “non-restaurant” food when we are in Seogwipo. Compare with Dongmun market, Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market is much smaller, and less tourism with many locals are coming here.
The goods sold at all Jeju markets keep on repeated as fresh produce, meats, kimchi, seafood, souvenirs, and so on. The good thing about Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market is the lined seats along the middle of the market provide seating locations for customers to enjoy their food.
We bought a lot of street food like black pork and crab croquettes, and fried chick.
Address: 18 Jungang-ro 62beon-gil, Seogwi-dong, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do, South Korea
Opening Hours: Daily 7 a.m to 9 p.m
Parking fee: free for street parking. Multi-story parking behind the market at ₩500
Korea GPS Tel No: 762-1949
Enjoy A Cup of Coffee At Sea view Cafe
We finish the visit at the southern coastline and continue heading to the east coast of Jeju Island. We first check in to the B&Sun pension with sea view at Seongsan, an ahjumma managed local Korean pension.
There are few cafes nearby our pension and we just simply choose either one of them. Sometimes this is the fun part of the road trip, right?
Molmanong cafe is located just right at the junction before entering our pension. It serves food like cheese-flooded burgers, chicken, and pork chops with fries. You can also order the Korean seafood ramen to try on their food.
We took the window seat and order a cup of ice coffee. The cafe is not crowded and only a few tables by Korean couples come for their burger. Their food looks very tempting but we managed to hold it for the planned dinner.
Such a relaxing visit! See how the dog enjoys its day.
Myeongjin Jeonbok 명진전복 Abalone Restaurant
We end our day 3 Jeju south coast itinerary with a fresh abalone feast at Myeongjin Jeonbok. Myeongjin Jeonbok probably is the most well-known eatery to serve fresh abalone dishes not only to locals but also to tourists. It is located in the upper of eastern Jeju and we took about 30 minutes from our pension.
Only four types of signature abalone dishes are served at Myeongjin Jeonbok and you won’t go wrong for any of it! We order three out of four dishes at Myeongjin Jeonbok and thumb up to all.
The stay of our third day in Jeju south coast itinerary decided at B&Sun pension at Seongsan. It is a five-storied sea view pension managed by an ahjumma. Ahjumma cannot speak English well, but she provided us with the hotel guide which covers everything during our check-in.
The interior of the room is new, clean, and spacious with an ocean view facing. We went up to the roof with the ultimate sea view with a cup of coffee after our morning hike at Sunrise Peak, Seongsan Ilchulbong.
The location is ideal with 5 minutes drive to Seongsan Ilchulbong and Udo Ferry Harbor. We loved our stay at this calm and peaceful pension on the east coast of Jeju.
Don’t stay at the hotel, choose an ocean view pension. Find a cafe and do nothing but the sea! Alternatively, consider staying at Co-op City Hotel Seongsan, Hotel Aroha about 5 to 10 minutes’ driving distance to Seongsan Ilchulbong.
Address: 929-7, Hwanhaejangseong-ro, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo, Jeju Island
Korea GPS Tel No: 782-7794 (Cannot find by Car GPS, use KakaoMap instead )
From south to east Jeju, the total driving journey took us about 100km including the return journey for dinner. Thanks to the convenience of driving at Jeju island, we have more flexibility to arrange our Jeju south coast itinerary free and easily.
The famous eatery Myeongjin Jeonbok Restaurant ranked number one in our Jeju food hunt but it is not so easy to reach by public transport.
Just pick a few interested tourists who visited attractions like Jeongbang Waterfall and Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliff. I personally enjoyed the morning and evening walks at the beaches. Buy a cup of coffee and listening to sea waves will be more enjoyable.
